El Chanfle es el utillero del equipo de fútbol del América cuyo entrenador es Moncho Reyes . Ambos tienen problemas para llevarse bien debido al elevado sentido de la honradez y limpieza en el juego dentro de la cancha que tiene nuestro protagonista, algo que no comparte el rígido entrenador. Sin embargo, El Chanfle se gana el aprecio del médico del equipo, el Dr. Najera así como del presidente del club, el Sr. Matute, quienes reconocen en él a un noble trabajador que intenta sacar adelante a su esposa Tere, a pesar de los líos y disparatadas ocurrencias provocadas por su torpeza.
