En búsqueda de fama y fortuna como gran actor de Hollywood el Chato dejó San Ignacio, su idílico y apacible pueblo en medio de la nada. Diez años después, en 1982, un cargamento de cocaína es arrojado desde el aire sobre San Ignacio, el Chato es encomendado por la mafia de Tijuana para recuperar la droga a sabiendas de que si no lo hace todos los habitantes del pueblo estarán en peligro. A su regreso el Chato se confronta con la posibilidad de recuperar su vida, su familia y al hijo que no sabía que tenía.
